Top 5 Tallest Mountains in the World

Base Photo via 旅者 河童 at flickr
There are over 100 mountains that have an elevation that is greater than 23,000 feet (7,000 meters) above sea level. The elevation of a geographic location is its height above or below a fixed reference point. It's not common  to measure elevation using the center of the Earth as the reference point. Which makes it difficult to determine which mountains are taller than others. With that being said, this is a list of the tallest mountains ranked by elevation.
